o determine if you qualify for a consular interview waiver, you must first cancel your existing consular appointment. If you do not qualify for an interview waiver after completing the steps below, you will need to schedule a new consular appointment based on current appointment availability.
(Please be aware that if you have never had a visa previously, you must attend an in-person interview and should not take the steps below. Instead, you should prepare to attend the interview appointment you have already scheduled.)
If you choose to proceed, follow these steps to determine eligibility for a consular interview waiver:
Log in to your account and click on the "Continue" button.
Select the "Cancel Appointment" option and confirm the cancellation request. You must cancel your appointment to reset your account and have the interview waiver scheduling condition statements available to you.
At the Applicant Summary page, click on the gear icon and choose the "Edit" option, review your profile, and update as needed on the Edit Applicant page, click the "Save" button. Even if you did not make any changes to your profile, click on the "Save" button. This will allow you access to the interview waiver scheduling condition statements.
Finally, select the condition statements that apply to you and click the "Confirm" button. The system will determine your eligibility for an interview waiver based on your responses.
a. If you qualify for an interview waiver, the system will display information on how to submit your visa renewal application to the Consular Section.
b. If you do not qualify for an interview waiver, you will be instructed to schedule a new appointment for a consular interview.
