How to watch subtitle on Xbox
Here is the trick:
1. Google and download any subtitle player in laptop like http://greenfish-subtitle-player.en.softonic.com/ load the srt file.
2. Place your laptop below TV as shown in picture..
3. Load subtitle on your laptop.
4. Play movie in xbox simultaneoulsy with subtitle player in Laptop.
There is no way for an external SRT to work with an xbox 360. The subs need encoded as part of the video, which means re-encoding the media. Since its a MP4 I do have a solution you could attempt that really isn't to time consuming besides the final step where it re-encodes the video and that time length is all determined by the video's res/quality and the specs of your pc.
